Bubbles
Childcare and Education for Pre-school and Home Educated Children (Ages 9 months - 11 years)
Our Education

At Bubbles, we have a holistic, gentle approach to the care of our children and we believe in a child led educational approach. Children learn best when they are deeply engaged and interested in what they are doing and when playing either alone or with others. We will provide rich, engaging experiences and invitations to play, that encourage children to try new things, persevere through challenge, show independence and resilience, solve problems and lead their own learning and development.
Here we believe in the power of nature and being outside to fuel children's souls and better their overall happiness and mental health. The natural world has limitless learning possibilities and learning about our world is one of the most fundamental parts of human development and success. That's why we aim to spend much of our time in our garden, which has been designed with the children in mind. We also aim to explore other local outdoor spaces as much as possible and we will provide children with outdoor activities and experiences daily. We will teach children about our world through forest school activities, gardening, trips to the forest, beach and countryside and regular walks around our local area.
Pre - school Children:
As Ofsted registered childminders, we are required to follow the Early Years Foundation Stage statutory requirements. We use the requirements and development matters guidelines to guide our planning but our day to day provision will be shaped by the children's individual stages of development and unique interests. We aim to create fun, excitement and magic in every experience we provide and show children that learning is play and play is learning. The children will be as much a part of planning and developing future experiences as we are and their natural curiosity in the world around them will lead the way.
In order to ensure coverage of the EYFS and maximise learning potential we do pre-plan our terms, however this planning is to guide and inspire learners and it will grow and adapt with the group of children we have at the time. This planning follows an enquiry based approach. We will use a key question over a short term (5-6 weeks) to guide provision set up. The question is designed in such a way that children should be able to answer the question by the end of the teaching period but how they get to the answer will be very much led by them with plenty of invitations to play and engagement opportunities to draw out the learning.
Home Educated Children:
When children reach the end of the EYFS (usually the September following their 5th birthday), we no longer follow any particular government curriculum. We do use the National Curriculum for key stages 1 and 2 as a guideline as to age and stage appropriate education but our planning for home educated children will be primarily based on discussions with the child and parents about the child's interests and current abilities. Children who attend Bubbles will have the opportunity to take part in a range of age appropriate activities including cooking, music, art, science experiments, story creation, board games, forest school activities, trips into the local community and so much more.
Whilst we will provide fun, engaging and educational activities for your children, suited to their age, current development and interests, we will not be responsible for the legal education provision for your child. We do offer tutoring services that can be booked separately and can form part of a home educated child's legal educational provision if this is required.
What we use to enhance provision and ensure quality curriculum planning:
The best educational providers are those who understand that no one person can know everything about teaching and learning. Recommendations, requirements and ideas are constantly changing and we know how important it is to keep up to date so that we can be sure we are providing the absolute best, high quality provision we can. We will use the following organisations and websites to keep us up to date, collaborate on ideas, enhance our learning provision and provide children with high quality resources and learning activities.
